How to set up Nano Cortex with Framepad IO
In this tutorial, you will learn how to set up and connect Neural DSP's Nano Cortex to Framepad IO. Nano Cortex is a powerful multi-effects processor that can be used with guitar, bass, and other instruments. By connecting Nano Cortex to Framepad IO, you can control its parameters and presets directly from your browser.
Step 1: Connect Nano Cortex to Your Computer
First, connect your Nano Cortex to your computer using a USB cable. Make sure that Nano Cortex is powered on. When you connect Nano Cortex, your computer should recognize it as a MIDI device.
Step 2: Open Framepad IO
Next, open Framepad IO in your web browser. You can do this by navigating to the Framepad IO website and logging in to your account. If you don't have an account yet, you can create one for free.
Step 3: Create a New Frame
Once you're on the Framepad IO application page, create a new frame by clicking the "Create Frame" button. This will open a page where you can configure your frame and add controls to it.
Step 4: Select Nano Cortex Frame Template
To make it as easy as possible to get started, we have created a pre-configured frame template for Neural DSP's Nano Cortex. To use this template, click on the "Neural DSP - Nano Cortex" template. If you want, you can give it a custom name. In the "Template Configuration" section, you can select the default MIDI device which should be used by your frame.
If you have connected Nano Cortex to your computer, it should appear in the dropdown menu. Select it to use it as the default MIDI device for your frame. If you don't see it in the dropdown, make sure that Nano Cortex is properly connected and recognized by your computer.
Step 5: Start Using Your Frame
After selecting the Nano Cortex template and configuring it, click the "Create Frame" button. This will create your frame and take you to the Nano Cortex frame. You should see a collection of controls that are pre-configured to send MIDI commands to bypass the five available effects which can be configured in the Nano Cortex. Additionally, there are also two preconfigured controls for switching presets on the Nano Cortex. You can click on the buttons to send MIDI commands to change to the presets which are assigned toPC 1 and PC 2 on your Nano Cortex. You can customize the controls and their MIDI commands as you like.
That's it! You have successfully set up Nano Cortex with Framepad IO. Now you can control your Nano Cortex directly from your browser and create custom configurations to enhance your music production workflow.
