Welcome to Framepad IO. In this post, we want to give you a quick and accurate overview of what Framepad IO is today and how to get started in a few minutes.
Framepad IO is a browser-based MIDI controller. You can build custom frames, place pads, and use them to send MIDI messages such as Program Change and Control Change to your gear.
Framepad IO is currently in public beta and is local-first. At the moment, your data is stored locally in your browser.
Getting Started
To get started, open the Framepad IO website and accept the welcome dialog. You can continue without creating an account.
From there, go to your Frames overview and click Create Frame. You can start from a Blank frame or use a starter template like Neural DSP - Nano Cortex.
A frame is a collection of pads. Each pad can trigger actions or send MIDI messages. You can connect pads in a flow and customize message values, targets, and behavior to match your rig.
Browser support depends on Web MIDI support. For the best experience, use a Chromium-based browser such as Chrome or Edge. Safari is currently not supported.
